SKI VALLEY - mt. lemmon

Mt. Lemmon Ski Valley, located in the Santa Catalina Mountains in Arizona, has an elevation of 9,157 feet. The ski area was established in the 1930s, and is the southernmost ski destination in the continental United States.

The ski season at Mt. Lemmon typically runs from December to April, depending on snowfall. The area receives an average of 150 inches of snowfall per year. The weather can vary greatly on the mountain, with temperatures at the base of the mountain being much warmer than at the summit.

"Ski the Lemmon" is a phrase that is used to promote Mt. Lemmon Ski Valley and its skiing and snowboarding opportunities.

An interesting fact about Mt. Lemmon Ski Valley is that it is operated by the U.S. Forest Service, making it one of the few ski areas in the country to be run by a government agency.
